Comcast Celebrates Black History Month with Exclusive Short Film

Comcast is celebrating Black History Month with the launch of newly available content celebrating historical figures, including an exclusive short film featuring some of America’s most influential creators of superhero stories, shows and movies. The 12-minute film, “Groundbreakers: Heroes Behind The Mask,” includes behind-the-scene interviews with talented illustrators, actors, authors and more, while chronicling the deep-rooted history and representation of the Black community in the world of superhero storytelling.

In addition to “Groundbreakers: Heroes Behind The Mask,” several new films have been added to the “Black Film & TV” Xfinity on Demand collection. These movies include History Channel’s “Voices of the Civil Rights Movement,” and Smithsonian Channel’s “Malcom X: The Lost Tapes.”

The “Black Film & TV” destination has been added as a highlight page on Xfinity X1 and will be available to access year-round. The collection includes over 800 shows, movies, music videos, and web content featuring African American actors, content creators, musicians and sports figures.

“Groundbreakers: Heroes Behind The Mask” and the full “Black Film & TV” collection are available now on Xfinity on Demand, online at xfinity.com/discovermore, on the Xfinity Stream app or by saying ‘Black Film & TV’ into the Xfinity X1 Voice Remote.
