Comcast Leader Provides Books to Albuquerque Students

Abel Bazan has been a part of the Comcast family for over 35 years, and is currently a Construction Manager in Albuquerque New, Mexico. During the last year, Abel participated in the Greater Albuquerque Chamber of Commerce’s Leadership Albuquerque program. In Leadership Albuquerque, participants become engaged civic leaders who understand the challenges facing economic growth in Albuquerque and New Mexico, build enduring relationships with other professionals across Albuquerque, and interact with senior officials from all levels of government and the private sector.

As a part of the program, participants are given the opportunity to complete a volunteer service project. Abel’s team’s mission was to provide kindergarten and first-grade students in the Albuquerque Reads program with books for their home libraries at their independent reading level and a warm meal from local restaurants.

Abel led his Leadership Albuquerque team in a project that provided Xfinity backpacks to 250 elementary-aged students at Whittier, Atrisco and Belair Elementary Schools in Albuquerque. These backpacks were full of books, food gift cards, and school supplies. Comcast along with other member companies of Leadership Albuquerque supported the initiative.

We are very proud of Abel and his commitment to his community. Join us in congratulating Abel for his graduation from the Leadership Albuquerque program!
