Comcast reached a remarkable milestone in 2024: over 100,000 new residences and businesses across our Mountain West Region footprint now have access to Xfinity and Comcast Business next generation fiber network.  This includes more than 23,000 in New Mexico. This expansion represents Comcast’s commitment to connecting more people to what matters most through its next generation, fast, reliable, resilient and secure network.

“This milestone isn’t just about growth,” said Travis Thetford, Vice President of Engineering for Comcast’s Mountain West Region. “It’s about uplifting our communities, increasing access to more people and providing the essential connectivity for our communities to thrive.”

Hundreds of New Miles of Network Infrastructure

To support this growth in New Mexico, Comcast invested over 100 miles of new network infrastructure – including fiber – this year alone.  This infrastructure ensures fast, reliable, resilient and secure connections.

“Our employees are local,” Thetford said. “We’re technologists who not only build for today but have an eye toward the future.”
